How does our referral program work?

1. 10% Discount for New Families: When you refer a NEW family to our camp and they register their child, they will receive an additional 10% discount on their registration fees! This discount will be applied when they use the special code provided to them upon submission of the referral form.

2. Referral Credits for You: As a thank you for your referral, you will receive a $15 credit for every week the referred family registers their child for camp. For example, if the new family registers their child for 4 weeks, you will receive a $60 credit towards your own camp fees!

3. Unlimited Referrals: There is no limit to the number of new families you can refer! The more families you refer, the more credits you can earn towards your own camp fees.

Let's imagine Sarah, a current parent registered at Laurus Summer Camp, excitedly telling her friend Emily about the camp's Refer-a-Friend program:

Sarah: Hey Emily! Remember how much fun I had at Laurus Summer Camp, last summer? Well, they have this awesome Refer-a-Friend program now. If you sign up, you'll get a 10% discount on your fees, and I'll get a $15 credit for each week you attend. There's no limit to how many friends I can refer, so it's a win-win for both of us!

Emily: That sounds amazing, Sarah! I'll sign up right away. Thanks for letting me know!

How do I opt-out my child from photo consent?

We provide a service with our registration software for the distribution of photos to our community. In order to opt-out please follow the steps below:
Step #1: Contact info@laurussummercamp.com expressing your will to opt-out. Provide the following information.
- First and Last Name of Your Child
- Location of Attendance
- Profile Photo of Your Child (Clear photo of the face with only the child in the photo)
- Your Email Address In Your Account

All of this information is required or else we cannot process your request

Step #2: Send all the information! We should have everything updated within a 24-48 business hours.

What happens if I am late picking up my child?

Our normal camp day ends at 4:00pm. Should you arrive after 4:00pm, your child will be automatically enrolled in our Extended Care program for the day ($10/day/child).

If your child is already in our Extended Care program and you arrive late (after 5:30pm or 6:00pm, depending on the location), you will be charged a fee of $1/minute/child.

Do you guys provide lunch or do we provide our own lunch?

We offer an optional lunch program at our camp! We've partnered with Hunger Busterzz to provide nutritious catered lunches for our campers. The pricing varies based on size, with small lunches priced at $10 and large lunches at $12.

If you do not wish to purchase hot lunches, please provide your child with a lunch.

Does early care & extended care come with an extra fee?

Early care is completely free! This is from 7 or 7:30 am to 9 am. However, there is an additional fee of $10 for extended care starting at 4:00 pm. As well, there will be an extra charge if a camper isn't picked up by closing time.

Does Laurus do background checks on employees?

Yes, all of our team goes through a third party’s extensive screening process for background and police checks.

Is my child properly accompanied throughout the day?

Yes, it is our camp counselors main priority to ensure that each camper is with their group and well integrated into the camp lifestyle. Our counselors accompany their children wherever they need to go throughout the day (water breaks, bathroom breaks, etc).

My child is allergic to nuts/peanuts - can they attend your camp?

Yes! We ask you to make sure the allergies section in your child's account is always updated. This will permit us to make sure all appropriate measures are taken to help protect your child. Also, it is important to bring TWO epipens to camp to make sure we offer the most secure environment for your child.

What do the kids do during extended care hours in the morning/evening?

During check-in and check-out as well as extended hours, our campers are supervised in the gym for free play time and quiet station games (coloring, bracelet making, etc.).

During extended hours of camp children will have a choice between 3 or 4 different planned activities, and can experience any one of them at any given time.

Do the kids go to the pool?

We don’t have swimming or anything that involves the head being submerged under water as we feel the risk is too high. We do however have weekly water activities such as water games , water balloon, slip-n-slides, sprinklers, and more.

How does the pricing work?

We charge a fixed weekly rate for each camp location, and this rate may vary depending on the facility and location-specific factors.

What is your camp ratio?

We are proud to be certified by the Association des camps du Québec (ACQ). Not only do we meet their standards, but we also exceed them to ensure your child’s safety and care.

What exactly are STAs and when are they offered?

STAs (Specialty Training Areas) are a variety of activities offered at our camps, including academics, sports, science, and arts. The availability of specific STAs depends on the camp location and the week. Activities may rotate based on popularity and group size, but we always ensure a balance of these four core elements.

What is the cancellation policy?

or cancellations, an administration fee of $50.00 per week canceled will be made with a full refund. STA fees, extended care, and merchandise purchases are non-refundable. Note: If you choose to rollover credits in your account, there are no administration fees.

Are you an overnight camp?

No, we are a day camp operating from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Please note, hours may vary depending on the location—check your respective location’s information for specific details.

Does Laurus provide documents for taxes?

Yes, if you are registered for one of our locations in Quebec and are a Canadian resident with a Social Insurance Number (SIN), we can provide you with a Relevé 24 (RL-24). This form will be accessible online via your client portal account by the end of February. If you would like to request an advance payment from the government, please fill out this form here.

If you are registered for our programs outside of the province of Quebec, you may declare your Laurus fees on your tax returns.

Does Laurus accommodate children with special needs?

Although Laurus is not a special needs camp, we strive to maintain an inclusive environment. If your child wishes to attend Laurus, but needs extra support, Laurus has agreed to provide the family with a discounted camp fee in hopes to alleviate the monetary impact this may have on them. Please contact our customer support team for this discount.

Can I switch locations?

Yes, you can!

Location switches are subject to availability.

Provided a location does have availability for a switch, extra fees or a credit may be in order to accommodate the difference in pricing.To request a location switch, please fill out this form.

Can I switch activities and STAs?

Yes, you can.

Kids change their mind all of the time, we get it! Simply fill out this request form by the Thursday prior to the concerned week and we will take care of the rest for you.

Switches are at no charge if requested by Thursday of the week prior. Switches can be made after Thursday but are subject to availability and possible additional charges.

Do you have to be a Quebec resident or have a visa to attend your camp?

Nope! Our camp is open to anyone, you do not have to be a Quebec resident to register. We are fortunate enough to have children from all around the world join us every year.
