The Laurus Counsellor-in-Training (C.I.T.) Program caters to 15 year olds that aspire to be camp counsellors and work in the field of childcare.
Over a 3 week period, our future camp counsellors will touch on the following modules:
- Week 1: Camp Roles
- Week 2: Childcare & Safety (C.P.R. certification included)
- Week 3: Activity Planning
Each module contains a group activity and a quiz which may also be done in small groups as a collaborative lesson. Quizzes will be available in their C.I.T. Program Guide, alongside a plethora of activities that they are expected to complete during their time at Laurus.
Once having completed all three modules, our Counsellors-in-Training will receive an official Laurus C.I.T. Program Completion certificate as well as proof of their valid Heart&Stroke C.P.R. certification .
Together, our 3-week Counsellor-in-Training Program will teach our C.I.T's about the basics of childcare and prepare them for their entry into the world of childcare, hopefully with us the following year.
