Dear Laurus family,
We would like to start by thanking all our amazing families for their patience and understanding during these uncertain times. The last few months have been difficult to navigate for everyone and we have been eagerly awaiting further direction from the government on what this summer will be looking like for the children. On Thursday, May 21st, Premier Legault announced that day camps are going to operate this summer. Strict guidelines will be in place to ensure everyone’s safety. From speaking to many of
you, we know that our campers are craving fun, socialization and camp spirit. This message is to let you know that we are here for our families and Laurus will be operating for summer 2020!
We hope to have direction soon from the government in terms of the protocols that will be needed to ensure every camper’s safety. As always you can count on low camper to counsellor ratios, and highly trained staff. The programming, groups and schedules will likely be different this summer as we deal with a new reality. The nature of our Specific Training Areas will be adjusted to only include activities that avoid unnecessary contact and can be done safely with the restrictions in place. As always, we will be taking advantage of the beautiful summer weather and keeping our group’s time inside limited.
We are so thankful to be able to operate this summer and will be constantly adapting and communicating as more information becomes available.
